Indonesian Military Heightens Alertness in Lebanon After Four Soldiers Killed

The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) has heightened alertness in Lebanon in the aftermath of four of its soldiers being killed due to an Israeli attack at the end of March 2026.

“In line with the dynamics of the security situation in Lebanon, TNI continues to increase vigilance and ensure that all soldiers carry out security procedures in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of UNIFIL,” stated the Head of the Army Information Service (Kadispenad), Brigadier General TNI Donny Pramono, in his statement on Saturday (25/4/2026).

Donny emphasised that TNI continues to monitor developments in the area of assignment and prioritises the safety of the soldiers on duty.

“TNI remains committed to carrying out the world peace mission in a professional and fully responsible manner, while still prioritising the safety of soldiers and maintaining the honour of the nation at the international level,” said Donny.

“Currently, the administrative process for repatriating the remains of the late is being carried out,” Donny added.

Private First Class (Praka) Rico was one of the TNI soldiers attached to the Task Force Yonmek XXIII-S/UNIFIL deployed in southern Lebanon.

The late Praka Rico Pramudia was a soldier serving as Tabakpan 1/C Company C UNP 7-1 Task Force Yonmek XXIII-S/UNIFIL, and on a daily basis, he served as Taban SO RU 1 Ton 2 Kipan A Yonif 114/SM Brigif 25/Siwah.

Rico was declared fallen on Friday (24/4/2026) at 10:32 local time or 14:32 WIB, after receiving intensive treatment at St. George Hospital, Beirut.

Rico’s death adds to the long list of TNI soldiers who lost their lives due to the Israeli attack on 29 March 2026.

The three soldiers who fell in that attack had already arrived in the homeland in early April 2026.

They were Major Inf (Posthumous) Zulmi Aditya Iskandar, Sergeant First Class (Posthumous) Muhammad Nur Ichwan, and Corporal (Posthumous) Farizal Rhomadhon.
