Indonesian maid made to eat feces

SINGAPORE (Reuter): A Singaporean woman and her teenage son
have been charged with forcing their Indonesian maid to eat dog
feces, the Straits Times newspaper said yesterday.

It said the 37-year-old woman and her son were charged in a
district court with forcing the maid, who is only 15, to eat dog
feces on three occasions.

The newspaper said the Singaporean pair were first charged
with abusing the maid in June and the feces-eating charges were
added to the list of allegations against them Thursday.

The 13-year-old boy is accused of an additional 10 charges,
including burning the maid with an iron, beating her with a
broomstick and a badminton racquet and jabbing her with a steel
ruler. The mother faced another nine charges of abetting her son
by not stopping the assaults, the newspaper said.
