Indonesian-Made Clothes Hangers Ready to Decorate Global Supply Chains
It may come as a surprise that a simple everyday item used in the United States is made in Indonesia. Clothing hangers produced by PT JSWB Metal Products, located in the Candi Industrial Estate, Semarang, Central Java, are being exported to meet the demands of the American market.
The company’s commitment to boosting exports and strengthening domestic industry is further supported by the approval of bonded zone facilities from the Regional Office of Customs and Excise for Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta.
PT JSWably Metal Products is a company engaged in the production of clothing hangers, with a production capacity that is steadily increasing. By 2026, the company’s production capacity is recorded to reach 31.2 million pieces and is projected to increase significantly to 156 million pieces by 2030. This capacity expansion is accompanied by growth in investment value. In 2026, the company’s investment value reached IDR 20.07 billion and is projected to rise to IDR 41.31 billion by 2030.
Beyond its export orientation, the presence of PT JSWB Metal Products also impacts local employment. In 2026, the company employed 84 local workers, a figure projected to grow to 105 people by 2030.
“With its entire production destined for the United States market, PT JSWB Metal Products serves as an illustration of how Indonesian manufacturing products are capable of penetrating the global market. Products that appear simple in everyday life turn out to be part of the international supply chain connecting Indonesian industry with consumers in the United States,” said the Head of the Regional Office of Customs and Excise for Central Java and D.I. Yogyakarta, Agus Yulianto.
Agus mentioned that the approval of these bonded zone facilities is expected to provide more room for the company to increase production capacity, expand export markets, and develop investment in Indonesia. “For Customs itself, providing these bonded zone facilities is part of our efforts to encourage exports, investment, and labour absorption,” he said.
From the industrial estate in Semarang, products made by Indonesian workers are present and used in the daily lives of people across the world. From Semarang to the United States, Indonesian-made hangers are ready to feature in the global supply chain.
