Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian junior golfers will have the opportunity to test their abilities against participants from 30 countries at the Mandiri Ciputra Golfpreneur Junior World Championship (MCGJWC) 2026, held at Damai Indah Golf, PIK Course, Jakarta, from 10-12 June.

“With an increasing number of international golfers participating, Indonesian athletes have the opportunity to continuously improve their playing quality and competitive mental strength. This experience serves as essential capital for advancing to higher levels of competition in the future,” said Nararya Ciputra Sastrawinata, Chairman of the Ciputra Golfpreneur Foundation, in an official statement on Wednesday.

The tournament has entered a new era this year after receiving sanctioning from the Asia Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC). This recognition has broadened participation for junior golfers from member countries of the confederation, while simultaneously elevating the quality of competition within the championship.

A total of 142 golfers from 30 countries have registered for the 2026 edition. This figure represents an increase compared to last year’s event, which was attended by participants from approximately 20 countries.

Participants include golfers from Australia, Bangladesh, Botswana, Cambodia, China, Taiwan, Denmark, Germany, Ghana, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Kenya, South Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Namibia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and Vietnam.

Budiarsa Sastrawinata, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Ciputra Golfpreneur Foundation, stated that the presence of young golfers from various nations provides a valuable opportunity for Indonesian athletes to experience a high-quality international competitive atmosphere.

“The presence of young golfers from various countries provides a very valuable opportunity for Indonesian athletes to gain high-quality international competition experience,” said Budiarsa.

Budiarsa also expressed appreciation for the consistency of Bank Mandiri, which has returned as the tournament’s primary partner. He noted that sustained support from various parties is crucial for strengthening the development of Indonesian junior golfers.

Bank Mandiri Corporate Secretary Adhika Vista stated that support for the MCGJWC is part of the company’s commitment to driving the development of national sporting talent.
