The Indonesian Industrial Estates Association (HKI) has stated its readiness to facilitate the provision of industrial land and assist with the licensing process for Russian investors looking to invest in Indonesia. Speaking in Ekaterinburg, Russia, HKI Chairman Akhmad Ma’ruf Maulana highlighted Indonesia’s advantages as an investment destination, citing strong economic stability, a large domestic market, a strategic position as a gateway to the ASEAN region, and a growing network of industrial estates supported by increasingly competitive infrastructure and utilities. Ma’ruf noted that the Indonesian government continues to strengthen the investment climate through regulatory simplification, accelerated licensing, infrastructure development, and providing business certainty for investors. He assessed that synergy between the government and industrial estate managers is a crucial asset for accelerating investment realisation. As a follow-up to this commitment, HKI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Association of Clusters, Technology Parks and Special Economic Zones of Russia. The agreement was signed by the association’s CEO, Labudin Mikhail, and the HKI Chairman, and witnessed by Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov. The cooperation serves as a foundation to strengthen relations between the industrial zones of both countries through investment promotion, the exchange of business opportunity information, joint industrial project development, capacity building for industrial estate management, and the facilitation of investments by Russian companies in Indonesia and Indonesian companies in Russia. This approach is expected to accelerate investment realisation so that businesses can promptly commence operational activities. Through participation in the international industrial exhibition INNOPROM 2026 in Russia and the signing of this agreement, HKI is optimistic that economic relations between Indonesia and Russia will grow closer, opening new investment opportunities in the manufacturing, downstream processing, technology, logistics, energy, and industrial estate sectors.
