The Director General of Immigration at the Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Affairs, Hendarsam Marantoko, stated in Jakarta on Monday that this seamless corridor is available at several Hajj disembarkation points throughout the country.

He said the special corridor was designed to facilitate the smooth return of Hajj pilgrims.

Through this system, the immigration inspection process for pilgrims is faster and more efficient because their immigration data has been pre-processed. This eliminates the need for pilgrims to queue for conventional inspection upon arrival in Indonesia.

“With this system, Hajj pilgrims can immediately continue their journey to the Hajj dormitory or their next destination,” Marantoko said.

At Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, corridor gates have been installed at Terminal 2, serving arriving pilgrims according to their groups. Immigration officers and mobile units are also on standby to ensure a smooth arrival process.

Meanwhile, in Surabaya, the corridor gate has been relocated to the Sukolilo Hajj Dormitory and connected directly to the immigration system to support pilgrim services.

“Based on the results of today’s inspection, all preparations for the Hajj disembarkation are in good condition, including from the perspective of officers, inspection facilities, and support systems,” Marantoko said.

He noted that during the Hajj season, there have been no reports of problems or lost passports experienced by Indonesian pilgrims while in Saudi Arabia.

If cases of lost travel documents do arise, the Directorate General of Immigration will coordinate with relevant parties to ensure prompt handling so as not to hinder the pilgrims’ return.

The seamless immigration process utilizes a biometric system that allows arriving international passengers to clear immigration without having to stop for manual inspection.

This technology has been operational since 2025 as part of the government’s initiatives aimed at streamlining immigration procedures for international arrivals and improving airport efficiency.

Indonesian Hajj pilgrims for 2026 have begun returning home. The first flight group from the Batam Embarkation marked the first phase of the return journey, departing from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah on Sunday, May 31.

In this phase, 17 groups totaling 6,798 pilgrims will arrive in Indonesia starting June 1, 2026. According to the 2026 Hajj Itinerary, the second wave of pilgrims will be repatriated between June 16 and June 30, 2026, departing from Medina.

They are scheduled to travel from Mecca to Medina first on June 7, 2026, where they will stay in the Prophet’s City for approximately nine days before finally being flown to Indonesia.
