Investigators from Belu Police Station (Polres Belu) have arrested PK, a contestant from Indonesian Idol, in connection with an alleged rape case involving a 16-year-old child.

Head of Belu Police Station AKBP I Gede Eka Putra Astawa stated that PK was arrested at his residence in Atambua, Belu Regency, on Saturday, 28 February at 1:00 PM WITA. “Investigators have conducted the arrest of the suspect with initials PK at his residence,” said AKBP I Gede Eka Putra Astawa in a written statement.

However, as of Saturday evening, PK had not been formally detained. “We were about to detain him, but he complained of illness and is now being treated at Atambua General Hospital,” added Belu Police Public Relations Officer IPTU Agus Haryono.

Based on initial examination results, suspect PK was found to be in poor health and was advised to rest. To ensure the suspect’s medical condition, investigators transported him to Atambua General Hospital for further observation. The suspect remains under medical observation with inpatient hospitalisation and police accompaniment.

Belu Police Chief emphasised that medical care for the suspect is part of mandatory legal procedures, without compromising the commitment to law enforcement. “We prioritise professionalism and uphold the rights of the suspect, including the right to healthcare services. However, legal proceedings continue and will not be halted,” the police chief added.

Previously on Friday, 27 February at 10:18 PM WITA, investigators from the Criminal Investigation Unit of Belu Police Station detained another suspect with initials RS after examination, who is now held at Belu Police Detention Centre.

The detention of RS and arrest of PK are steps taken by investigators based on developments from the examination of suspect RM, who was successfully apprehended in Timor Leste after being designated as a fugitive in this investigation.

The principle of “equality before the law” is emphasised by investigators in handling this case, a fundamental principle of the rule of law ensuring every individual is treated equally without discrimination and is subject to the same laws and judiciary, regardless of social status, economic standing, race, or position.

PK is one of three suspects in a case reported to have occurred in January 2026 at a hotel in Atambua. The alleged incident involved sexual intercourse or indecent assault of the victim whilst she was allegedly not fully conscious.

Police in Belu, East Nusa Tenggara, have established three suspects in an alleged child rape case at Hotel Setia, Atambua, Belu Regency, one of whom is a contestant from Indonesian Idol.

The singer Petrus Yohannes Debrito Armando Jaga Kota, known as Piche Kota, has come under public scrutiny following allegations of involvement in an alleged rape case. The name Piche Kota has suddenly become a hot topic on social media and in national media outlets, not for his latest musical achievements, but rather due to rape allegations.
