Bukittinggi - (ANTARA) - Member of Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Ade Rezki Pratama, distributed Eid packages (parcels) to personnel of the Bukittinggi City Environmental Agency (DLH) in West Sumatra as a form of attention to those who will be on duty during the Idul Fitri 1447 Hijriah holiday on Wednesday.

According to Ade, DLH personnel play a significant role in maintaining the cleanliness and beauty of Bukittinggi City. They do not take a break during Eid because they are on duty for the comfort of visitors.

“DLH personnel have a quite heavy task in maintaining the cleanliness and beauty of the city. While we are on holiday, they remain on duty day and night; this deserves high appreciation,” said Ade.

He stated that Bukittinggi City is not only a tourism and education city but also a trading city, so waste issues must be handled by sanitation workers at all times.

The assistance provided is hoped to serve as motivation for DLH personnel in carrying out their duties, and it also strengthens bonds of empathy to enhance silaturahmi.

Head of the Bukittinggi City Environmental Agency, Aldiasnur, said that the regular attention and assistance from Ade Rezki to DLH personnel serves as a trigger for the workers’ enthusiasm in their jobs.

“Every year, Ade Rezki provides support to sanitation workers who will strive in the field during the holiday. The attention from this young politician becomes a motivator for our spirit,” said Aldiasnur.

During the Eid holiday leave, DLH will deploy more than 280 personnel to maintain the city’s cleanliness so that visitors feel comfortable.

Waste volume is predicted to increase by up to 20 percent from normal days during the upcoming Eid holiday. To address this, DLH has prepared a transfer depot.

“The Bukittinggi DLH transfer depot functions as a temporary waste transfer site from residents’ small carts to large container trucks,” said Aldiasnur.

Under normal conditions at present, the daily waste collected in Bukittinggi City reaches 150 tons, which is taken to the transfer depot before being disposed of at the Padang City landfill.

He hopes that the community can manage waste properly and that no waste is left behind when personnel are in the field.
