Indonesian House of Representatives Highlights the Importance of Strengthening Local Content in the Domestic Automotive Sector
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Chair of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Saleh Pertaonan Dulay, has highlighted the importance of manufacturers investing in Indonesia applying the Domestic Component Level (TKDN), which is regulated as the main foundation in building a self-reliant and sustainable national automotive industry.
“We encourage every investment in the manufacturing sector not only to be market-oriented but also to increase domestic added value through the measured and gradual implementation of TKDN,” said Saleh Pertaonan Dulay in his official statement during a working visit to QJMotor Manufacture Indonesia, Cikarang, on Thursday.
The presence of state institutions at this QJ-owned manufacturing facility is an important step to provide encouragement to the QJ Motor producer in Indonesia.
To further affirm QJ Motor’s commitment in Indonesia, the House of Representatives also highlighted the importance of using materials that already have Indonesian National Standard (SNI) certification in the entire manufacturing process to ensure product quality and consumer protection.
“Standards like SNI are not just regulations, but important instruments to maintain national industry quality in order to improve the quality of the domestic industry,” said Deputy Chair of Commission VII of the House of Representatives, Evita Nursanty.
“The Ministry of Industry, as one of the regulators of Indonesian industry, will always oversee the growth and development of the industry in Indonesia so that it grows in accordance with the expectations of the Indonesian Government, including the implementation of TKDN and SNI,” said Director General of ILMATE of the Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Industry, Setia Diarta.
This desire was welcomed by QJ Motor, which has a serious commitment to the Indonesian two-wheeled market.
Its factory has already adopted a modern system, precision engineering, and global-standard quality control.
This facility integrates the latest automation processes with strict quality assurance protocols to ensure consistency and efficiency across the entire production line.
According to him, this visit further strengthens the position of QJ Motor Indonesia as one of the strategic bases for the development of the Indonesian motorcycle industry in the Southeast Asia region.
Through the support provided by the government in cross-sector synergy, the company is optimistic about accelerating the realisation of investments while providing real contributions to national economic growth.
