Indonesian House of Representatives Approves Revision to Prolegnas 2026, 68 Priority Bills
Jakarta – The 19th plenary session of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) has approved the evaluation of the Second Revision to the National Legislative Programme (Prolegnas) Priority Year 2026 conducted by the DPR’s Legislative Body (Baleg).
The decision was approved at the 15th Plenary Session of the Fifth Session Year 2025-2026 at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Speaker Saan Mustopa.
Saan asked all members of DPR RI from representatives of all political party factions present at the plenary meeting.
“Approval of this plenary session will be followed up in accordance with the applicable mechanism,” Saan said.
Meanwhile, Baleg DPR RI Chairman Bob Hasan stated that the evaluation of Prolegnas Priority Year 2026 is the result of a working meeting that Baleg held with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights and the DPD RI’s Bill Drafting Committee on 15 April 2026.
He said that the working meeting approved the number of Bills entering the Prolegnas Priority Year 2026 to be 68. While the Bills entering the Prolegnas Long Term 2025-2029 stood at 198.
He explained several results of the Prolegnas evaluation, including the Housing and Settlement Area Bill (Omnibus Law), which originally was government-initiated but in the change to the third Prolegnas 2025-2029 became a DPR-initiated bill.
He added that Baleg DPR RI also included four Bills as DPR initiatives in the second revision of the Prolegnas Priority RUU for 2026: the Broadcasting Bill, the Curator Profession Bill, the Bill to amend Law No. 32 of 2009 on Environmental Protection and Management, and the Housing and Settlement Bill.
In addition, Baleg DPR RI also changed the title of the DPR-initiated Asset Auction Bill to the “Auction”, and the Indigenous Law Community Bill to the “Indigenous Peoples Bill” (Masyarakat Hukum Adat to Masyarakat Adat).
Then the Bills on Civil Procedure Law, and on Narcotics and Psychotropics, which were initially government-initiated, became DPR-initiated.
“Evaluation of Prolegnas Priority RUU 2026 does not discuss and does not list an open cumulative list,” Bob said.
