Indonesian Health Industry Gains Global Recognition
Bio Farma’s reputation as one of the pillars of the national health industry has once again gained recognition. The state-owned pharmaceutical company achieved two simultaneous awards at the Indonesia Most Reputable Companies Award 2026 and the Indonesia Most Reputable Companies Champions Excellence 2026.
The awards, organised by SWA and Business Digest, were presented during a conference and awarding ceremony themed ‘Strengthening Corporate Reputation and Employee Engagement in the Age of Rising Stakements Expectation’ on Thursday (10/9).
The President Director of Bio Farma, Shadiq Akasya, stated on Friday (11/9) that these awards are not merely a recognition of corporate image, but a reflection of Bio Farma’s consistency in building trust through performance and tangible contributions to society.
“Reputation is not built through communication alone, but through real capacity. The trust built over 136 years must continue to be proven through product quality, innovation, the ability to meet global standards, and consistency in ensuring health products reach the community,” he explained.
According to Shadiq, this reputation is bolstered by Bio Farma’s role in the international vaccine industry. More than 20 of the company’s products have obtained WHO Prequalification (WHO PQ), allowing them to be utilised in various global health programmes, including procurement through UNICEF.
This achievement serves as evidence that Indonesian-made health products are capable of meeting international standards for safety, quality, and effectiveness, while possessing the competitiveness to penetrate global markets.
Beyond Manufacturing
Shadiq added that the greatest achievement for a pharmaceutical company is not just producing high-quality products, but also ensuring that quality is maintained until the products reach the hands of the public.
“The reputation of a pharmaceutical company does not end when a product is finished being produced. Reputation is actually at stake when that product is distributed to the community,” he emphasised.
The Indonesia Most Reputable Companies 2026 evaluates corporate reputation based on four dimensions: Product & Services, Corporate Credibility, Value & Program, and People & Relationship. The survey involved 5,000 customer respondents from various product and service categories, with 14 companies participating in the judging process.
