Indonesian Hajj Pilgrims Complete Mina Activities, Perform Tawaf Ifadhah

MADINAH – Indonesian Hajj pilgrims’ activities in Mina have concluded on Saturday (30 May 2026). They must now perform Tawaf Ifadhah and Sa’i to complete the Hajj rites.

Tawaf Ifadhah is one of the essential pillars of Hajj; omitting it invalidates the pilgrimage. Additionally, performing Tawaf Ifadhah requires completing Sa’i and Tahalul.

“The Tawaf Ifadhah can be performed from the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah, after pilgrims have stood at Arafah and stayed overnight in Muzdalifah,” said Erti Herlina, Head of the Hajj Guidance and Group Hajj and Umrah Guidance (Bimbad and KBIHU) Section of the Makkah Hajj Delegation (Daker Makkah) under the Saudi Hajj Mission (PPIH).

However, Erti urged Indonesian Hajj pilgrims to perform Tawaf Ifadhah after completing their stay in Mina and the stoning of the Jamarat. “We recommend this for safety and security reasons, to perform Tawaf Ifadhah after the Mina activities are concluded,” she told the Hajj Media Centre (MCH).

According to Erti, Indonesian Hajj pilgrims usually perform Tawaf Ifadhah after completing Nafar Awal or Nafar Tsani. This is due to logistical reasons, as the distance is considerable when pilgrims need to perform Tawaf Ifadhah while still staying in Mina. Hence, most pilgrims carry out Tawaf Ifadhah after the Mina phase is complete.

“However, pilgrims are permitted to perform Tawaf Ifadhah after stoning the Jamarat al-Aqabah,” Erti added.

Currently, all Hajj pilgrims, whether opting for Nafar Awal or Nafar Tsani, have returned to their respective hotels in Makkah after spending the Days of Tashriq in Mina.

“They will return to Makkah City, go back to their hotels, rest adequately, and then perform Tawaf Ifadhah,” Erti added.

Erti explained that Tawaf Ifadhah involves not only circling the Kaaba but also subsequent Sa’i and Tahalul.

“Thus, all rituals are complete after performing the second Tahalul following Tawaf Ifadhah,” she explained.
