Indonesian Hajj pilgrims have commenced their departure to Arafah to perform the wuquf ritual on 9 Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 H, Tuesday (26 May). The transportation of pilgrims from their accommodations in Mecca to Arafah is being carried out in three staggered batches starting Monday (25 May) at 07:00 Saudi Arabia Time (SAT).

Syarif Rahman, Head of Transport for the 2026 Saudi Arabia Hajj Service Agency (PPIH), stated that the staggered departure schedule aims to ensure smooth transportation flow. The first batch departs from hotels to Arafah between 07:00 and 11:00 SAT, with pilgrims urged to adhere to the schedule to avoid congestion in hotel lobbies.

The second batch departs from 11:30 to 16:00 SAT, followed by the third batch from 16:30 to 21:00 SAT. This arrangement ensures all Indonesian Hajj pilgrims will have entered the Arafah area by Monday night (8 Dhu al-Hijjah).

Practically, the peak Hajj phase—comprising Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna)—begins on 8 Dhu al-Hijjah. Pilgrims will perform the core Hajj ritual, wuquf at Arafah, from midday until sunset on 9 Dhu al-Hijjah.

After the wuquf ritual, pilgrim movement from Arafah will follow two schemes: murur and non-murur. Those under the murur scheme will pass through Muzdalifah without alighting, remaining on the bus for overnight stay. Non-murur pilgrims will disembark and stay overnight in Muzdalifah on the night of 10 Dhu al-Hijjah before proceeding to Mina after midnight.

Movement from Muzdalifah to Mina also employs two scenarios. Pilgrims registered in the tanazul programme—estimated at 20,000—will be transported directly back to their accommodation hotels. Non-murur pilgrims will remain in Mina tents until 13 Dhu al-Hijjah.

During their stay in Mina, all pilgrims, whether regular or tanazul participants, are scheduled to perform the stoning of the jamarat ritual on 10 Dhu al-Hijjah. This will be followed by stoning on the days of Tashriq (11-13 Dhu al-Hijjah).

Pilgrims opting for nafar awal will conclude their stay in Mina on 12 Dhu al-Hijjah, while those choosing nafar tsani will remain until 13 Dhu al-Hijjah.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj RI) has swiftly addressed discrepancies in tent capacity for Indonesian pilgrims in Arafah following a direct inspection by Minister Mochamad Irfan Yusuf.

Surnadi, Head of Operations for the 2026 Saudi Arabia Hajj Service Agency’s Armuzna unit, stated that preparations for the peak Hajj phase are 95% complete.

Brebes Hajj Officers conducted surveys of Arafah and Mina tents ahead of the 2026 Hajj peak, confirming facilities are ready.

The DPR’s Hajj Supervisory Team has requested the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to promptly report on pilgrim movement schemes in Armuzna, including readiness of murur and tanazul arrangements for elderly pilgrims.

The peak Hajj movement to Armuzna (Arafah, Mina, and Muzdalifah) began today, 25 May 2026 or 8 Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 H. The National Hajj Commission has urged the government to address potential pilgrim disappearances.

Leading up to the Armuzna phase of 1447 H, Brebes Hajj Health Team has strengthened preventive services and medication education for high-risk pilgrims in Mecca.

The DPR’s Hajj Supervisory Team held an evaluation of the 2026 Hajj organisation with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah officials in Mecca on Sunday (24 May).
