Speaking at a press conference in the KSP building in Jakarta on Wednesday, he explained that the request had been forwarded to the Ministry of Finance under the Additional Budget Allocations (ABT) scheme.

He noted that nationwide school renovation is part of President Prabowo Subianto’s quick-win programs, aimed at boosting the national education system.

Qodari highlighted a significant expansion in scope, with the proposed extra budget far exceeding the initial Rp14.1 trillion allocation to renovate 11,744 schools this year. The figure also represents a sharp increase from 2025 allocations.

“In 2025, the target rose from 10,000 initially to 16,000 schools. As for this year, we aim to expand the coverage from about 11,000 to 60,000 schools,” the KSP chief explained.

He further reported that as of March 11, the government had completed renovations at 16,062 schools out of the 16,167 targeted under the 2025 allocation, noting that the remaining projects are in their final stages.

The government, he continued, is committed to ensuring that all construction works proceed in compliance with safety and quality standards set for the revitalization initiative, which extends beyond repairing the main buildings of schools.

He said the program is also intended to revamp supporting facilities such as toilets, with the aim of providing students with a better and healthier learning environment as part of the broader goal of nurturing quality human capital for the nation’s future.

Moreover, Qodari expressed confidence that revitalization projects across the country would generate positive economic impacts for local communities.
