Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag), through the Indonesia Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC) Budapest, reports that Indonesian furniture and home decor products have recorded a potential transaction value of US$743,070, equivalent to Rp12.64 billion, at the Home Design 2026 exhibition in Budapest, Hungary.

The Head of ITPC Budapest, Suci Mahanani, stated that the results of this exhibition demonstrate the high interest from the Central and Eastern European market towards Indonesian furniture and home decor products.

“The potential transaction of Rp12.64 billion proves that the Hungarian market as well as Central and Eastern Europe have significant interest and place trust in Indonesian furniture and home decor products,” said Suci in a statement in Jakarta on Monday.

She added that Indonesian products not only possess high quality but also feature designs that elevate cultural values, utilise natural materials, and apply sustainability principles that are highly suitable for current European consumer preferences.

During the exhibition, ITPC Budapest facilitated promotional activities, business matching, and direct visits to importers.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian Ambassador to Hungary, Penny D. Herasati, emphasised that quality is the primary key to winning global markets.

“We hope this exhibition serves as a bridge to introduce Indonesia’s best products that have met quality standards and the stringent requirements of the European market,” she said.

Meanwhile, data from the Central Statistics Agency records that total trade between Indonesia and Hungary in 2025 reached US$303.7 million.

The value of Indonesia’s non-oil and gas exports to Hungary in that year reached US$113.8 million, or an increase of 10.65 per cent compared to the previous year. This increase serves as a strong signal for Indonesian lifestyle products to continue expanding in Central and Eastern Europe.
