The Indonesian government has postponed all talks related to the Board of Peace (BoP) in response to the war between the United States (US) and Zionist Israel and the Islamic Republic of Iran. The US-Zionist aggression against Tehran prompted Iran to retaliate against Israeli-occupied territories in Palestine and to target Gulf Arab states hosting US military bases.

Indonesia has been urged to withdraw from the BoP, given the fact that the US and Israel are chairs, as well as BoP members that conducted assaults on Iran. Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu) Yvonne Mewengkang said President Prabowo has not withdrawn Indonesia’s participation from the BoP formed by President Donald Trump.

The government is still weighing the pros and cons of Indonesia’s membership in the Board of Peace for Gaza, Palestine. This includes Indonesia’s consideration of helping people in Gaza, whilst considering the wider impact of the US-Zionist assault on Iran recently.

“We are continuing to conduct a comprehensive assessment of developments in the region, particularly those in the Middle East,” Yvonne said at the Ministry in Jakarta on Friday (6 March 2026).

In light of the situation, Yvonne said, Indonesia has suspended all BoP-related agendas overseas. “That all discussions about the Board of Peace are suspended, or put on hold,” she added.

He noted that all meetings, discussions, and international forums addressing the BoP are suspended. “And there have been no meetings, or specific discussions related to the Board of Peace in the past week. As we have stated, all BoP discussions are currently on hold,” Yvonne continued.

Nevertheless, he said, Indonesia remains a member of the BoP. And there has been no decision from the presidential circle resulting from the evaluation to withdraw Indonesia from BoP participation in Gaza, Palestine.

“Our participation in the Board of Peace remains consistent in supporting stability and reconstruction in Palestine,” Yvonne said.
