Indonesian Embassy in Tehran Alerts Citizens to US-Israeli Attacks

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Embassy in Tehran has urged Indonesian citizens in Iran to heighten vigilance following military attacks by the United States and Israel against the country and escalating security tensions in the Middle East region.

Through an Instagram post on Saturday, the embassy requested Indonesian citizens remain calm and immediately take personal security measures together with their families at their respective residences.

Indonesian citizens have also been asked to actively report updates on the security situation in their respective areas to the embassy through available coordination groups and to comply with the regulations and directives of local authorities.

In case of emergency, the embassy has established a hotline service available at +989024668889 for obtaining consular assistance.

The embassy stated it would continue intensive communication with all Indonesian citizen networks to monitor developments in the situation and determine strategic measures in accordance with dynamics on the ground.

On Saturday (28 February), Israel and the United States launched new military strikes against Iran. This aggression represents the second action undertaken by the Trump administration’s government following similar action in June 2025.

Washington and Tehran had previously conducted three rounds of indirect negotiations regarding Iran’s nuclear programme, mediated by Oman, amid continuously escalating tensions.

The first and second rounds took place earlier this month in Muscat and Geneva, focusing on limiting the level of uranium enrichment and Iran’s uranium stockpiles in exchange for sanctions relief.

The third round was held on Thursday (26 February) in Geneva, several days before the latest attack by the US and Israel as the security situation in the region intensified.
