The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Riyadh has announced that it will not hold congregational Eid al-Fitr prayers for 1447 H/2026 AD in connection with developments in the Middle East region.

In a statement posted on the official Instagram account of KBRI Riyadh, as monitored in Jakarta on Thursday, KBRI Riyadh also urged Indonesian nationals (WNI) to perform Eid al-Fitr prayers at the nearest mosque and to continue following instructions from local authorities, as well as monitoring official information from the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and KBRI Riyadh.

KBRI also expressed its hope that the entire community remains safe and can welcome Eid al-Fitr with reverence.

Unlike KBRI in Riyadh, the Indonesian Consulate General (KJRI) in Jeddah will still hold Eid al-Fitr prayers on 1 Syawal 1447 H at the RI Consular Residence in Jeddah on Friday (20/3/2026) local time, followed by a griya event.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has set Eid al-Fitr or 1 Syawal 1447 Hijriah to fall on Friday, 20 March 2026.

According to the Royal Palace on Wednesday (18/3/2026), the local Supreme Court has decided that Thursday is the last day of Ramadan, so Friday (20/3/2026) will be the first day of Eid al-Fitr this year.

The Supreme Court also conveyed Eid al-Fitr greetings to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, as well as all citizens, residents, and Muslims.
