The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Kuala Lumpur has officially launched its Bahasa Indonesia for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) programme for the 2026 academic year. In a statement received in Kuala Lumpur on Friday, the embassy stated that this programme represents an important milestone in language diplomacy to strengthen cultural relations between nations in Malaysia. The opening ceremony was held online via the Zoom Meeting platform on Friday, 5 June 2026. KBRI KL’s Education Attaché, R. Ahmad Romadhoni Surya Putra, stated during the opening that KBRI Kuala Lumpur consistently holds this BIPA course regularly every year. The main speakers were Iwa Lukmana and Iyus Yusuf, Coordinators of the Expertise and Professional Services Group (KKLP) for BIPA, representing the Language Development and Fostering Agency. In his remarks, Iwa Lukmana expressed appreciation for the full support from KBRI KL, as well as to the BIPA course participants from various countries who enthusiastically joined the programme. Iwa also specifically expressed appreciation for the BIPA teaching staff, who are teachers from the Indonesian School of Kuala Lumpur (SIKL).
