The Indonesian Embassy in Abu Dhabi has urged Indonesian citizens (WNI) not to upload or share photographs of Iran’s attack incidents in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Indonesian citizens are being advised to exercise prudence in their use of social media to avoid triggering public panic.

“The Indonesian Embassy in Abu Dhabi is conveying information to Indonesian citizens in the United Arab Emirates regarding the official warning issued by the UAE Attorney General, Dr Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, which prohibits the taking, publication, or distribution of photographs and videos at incident sites, including those recording damage resulting from projectiles or shrapnel,” the embassy stated on its Instagram account on Wednesday (11 March 2026).

The distribution of such material can cause public panic and may not necessarily constitute accurate information.

Indonesian citizens are urged not to share photographs or videos related to the incident, as such actions could be considered legal violations.

“The Indonesian Embassy in Abu Dhabi urges Indonesian citizens not to take or distribute photographs, videos, or unverified information related to any incident, as this could constitute a legal violation if it causes public panic, spreads false news, or disrupts public order,” it stated.

The embassy also advised Indonesian citizens to prioritise their personal safety. Information should be obtained through official channels.

“Indonesian citizens are also urged to prioritise safety, avoid approaching suspicious objects, and follow instructions from local authorities. Should citizens obtain information regarding any incident, they are expected to report it through official channels or relevant authorities for verification purposes,” it said.

The embassy is currently monitoring developments in the situation closely and is coordinating with local authorities to ensure Indonesian citizens in the UAE receive accurate information from official sources.

Previously, four people—including nationals from Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh—had died in the UAE since the US-Israeli aggression against Iran triggered retaliatory strikes by Iran against neighbouring countries. The UAE has reportedly been targeted by hundreds of ballistic missiles from Iran.

“Since Iran’s recent aggression began, the UAE has been targeted by 238 ballistic missiles, 1,422 drones, and eight cruise missiles,” the UAE Ministry of Defence stated via X, according to reports from Al Jazeera on Sunday (8 March 2026).

The UAE detected 17 ballistic missiles and 117 drones on this day. The Ministry of Defence added that 16 missiles and 113 drones were successfully intercepted, whilst one missile and four drones fell into the sea.
