The Constitutional Court (MK) began hearing the dispute regarding the results of the General Election (PHPU), specifically concerning the educational requirements for Gibran Rakabuming Raka’s candidacy, on Friday (2/10/2026).

Attending the hearing via online connection were the Education Attachés from the Indonesian Embassies (KBRI) in Singapore and Australia. The Education Attaché for KBRI Singapore was represented by Nur Aeni Ariyanti, while the Education Attaché for KBRI Canberra, Australia, was represented by Yuli Rahmawati.

Both officials stated that they do not possess any archival documents regarding Gibran’s educational history.

Initially, Constitutional Judge Saldi Isra requested that the Education Attachés from the Indonesian Embassies in Singapore and Australia present any recordings or educational archives related to Gibran. This request followed Nur Aeni’s presentation regarding the education systems at Orchid Park Secondary School in Singapore and UTS Insearch (now known as UTS College) in Sydney, Australia.

“Madam Attaché, could you add what records the embassy holds regarding the educational levels completed by Mr Gibran?” asked Constitutional Judge Saldi Isra.

“With your permission, Your Honour, after searching the available documents, we did not find any documents stored at the Indonesian Embassy,” replied Nur Ainti.

Judge Saldi then clarified whether this applied to both his entry and departure from Singapore, noting that the issue concerns education equivalent to senior high school (SLTA). “So, there are no documents at all in the embassy, correct?” asked the judge.

“That is correct,” replied Nur Aeni.

Judge Saldi posed the same question to Yuli, who confirmed that KBRI Canberra, Australia, also lacks any archives of Gibran’s educational documents.

“What documents are held by our embassies, particularly within the education attachés? For example, certificates, dates of entry, dates of departure, or anything the embassy knows regarding the educational process undertaken by Mr Gibran there?” asked Judge Saldi.

“Thank you, Your Honour. Based on our archive search, both in hard copy and soft copy, we do not have any applications submitted by Mr Gibran,” replied Yuli.
