The National Resilience Institute (Lemhanas) is holding a retreat for leaders of Regional People’s Representative Councils (DPRD) from across Indonesia. The retreat is being held at the Military Academy in Magelang, Central Java.

The event is scheduled for five days from 15 to 19 April 2026. “This programme is designed to enhance the competencies, professionalism, and integrity of local legislative leaders amid the complexities of the global era,” said Head of the Lemhanas Public Relations Bureau, Brigadier General Muhammad Arif Nur, in his statement quoted on Wednesday, 15 April 2026.

According to Arif, this programme is part of the Regional Leadership Enhancement Course (KPPD), which will be attended by all DPRD chairmen at the provincial, city, and regency levels. The 2026 KPPD programme is initiated by Lemhanas in collaboration with the Military Academy.

Arif stated that the retreat combines theoretical analysis with disciplined character building. In the Tidar Valley, he said, participants will be forged with values of patriotism and state ideology through presentations by experts and national figures.

This DPRD chairmen retreat will be attended by 557 DPRD Chairmen from across Indonesia, covering 38 Provincial DPRD Chairmen, 93 City DPRD Chairmen, 415 Regency DPRD Chairmen, and 11 executives of the All-Indonesia Regency DPRD Chairmen Association.

According to Arif, participants are required to arrive on time, attend all activities, stay in glamping at the Akmil Magelang, comply with regulations, complete assignments, and uphold the good name of Lemhanas and their originating institutions during the retreat.

The main retreat materials cover national values including developments in the strategic environment, strengthening national identity, national vigilance, strengthening the role of leaders, Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution, as well as weaving diversity. In addition, materials on Asta Cita & Vision, Mission, and the President’s Priority Programmes will be discussed in depth.

The overarching theme of this event is “Strengthening the Role of Provincial/Regency/City DPRD Leaders to Support Asta Cita Towards Golden Indonesia 2045”. This programme is organised as a strategic instrument for training while ensuring the implementation of the government’s Asta Cita.

“At the end of the course, each DPRD leader is encouraged to produce strategic innovations that can optimise the role of local parliaments in driving societal welfare,” said Arif.

According to him, the main output of this KPPD is not merely academic understanding, but an evolution in thinking, attitudes, and actions. Lemhanas hopes that DPRD leaders will bring home the spirit for cross-sector collaboration and total commitment to national interests.
