Indonesian DPR Member: Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises’ KUR disbursement reaches 94.4 percent
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Hendry Munief, a member of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), commended the performance of the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) in successfully disbursing the People’s Business Credit (KUR), which reached 94.4 percent during 2025.
Hendry said the achievement is tangible evidence of successful collaboration between the Ministry of UMKM, the banks distributing the loans, and the DPR RI in strengthening the micro, small, and medium enterprise sector in Indonesia.
“The achievement of the KUR disbursement up to 94.4 percent certainly deserves appreciation. This is the result of good cooperation between the Ministry of UMKM, the distributing banks, and the DPR RI in supporting people’s economic growth,” he said in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Hendry revealed that his side continues to receive complaints from UMKM actors regarding collateral requirements by several KUR-disbursing banks, even though the loan amount is below Rp100 million.
Indeed, under the KUR programme rules, loans with a nominal value below Rp100 million should be more easily accessible to small business actors without additional collateral.
“Up to the last recess period, we were still receiving complaints from UMKM entrepreneurs who were asked for collateral for KUR loans under Rp100 million. This is a serious concern to ensure that the discipline of the disbursing banks is truly upheld,” he said.
He called for tighter supervision so that the main objective of the KUR programme in expanding access to financing for UMKM can be implemented effectively and targeted.
In addition, Hendry urged that the DPR RI be actively involved in the government’s Sapa UMKM programme. He said legislative involvement would strengthen oversight and the effectiveness of programme implementation in the regions.
“We hope the DPR RI will be involved in the Sapa UMKM programme so that oversight and collaboration in the regions run to the maximum. Commission VII of the DPR RI has always received many inputs relating to UMKM development,” he said.
In the same event, Hendry also highlighted the importance of strengthening the entrepreneurship ecosystem through the construction of Integrated Business Service Centres (PLUT) for UMKM in the region.
He said the proposal to build PLUT UMKM in Siak Regency has been submitted, and the regional government there has even prepared a supporting building.
“In my electoral district, Siak Regency, the regional government has prepared a building for PLUT UMKM. We hope for programme support from the ministry to realise it promptly,” he said.
He added that realisation of PLUT UMKM is very important to increase the capacity of local business actors, ranging from business mentoring, training, to market access and financing.
Hendry hopes the government will accelerate the strengthening of the national UMKM ecosystem so that the sector becomes more resilient to global economic challenges while also serving as a driver of regional economic growth.
