Praying with the President makes me feel part of Indonesia’s national family

Indonesian diaspora in Paris, France, expressed their happiness at performing Eid al-Adha prayers alongside President Prabowo Subianto at the Indonesian Embassy on Wednesday local time.

According to an official statement from the Government Communication Agency cited in Jakarta on Wednesday, the event strengthened the sense of kinship among Indonesian citizens abroad.

From early morning, Indonesian citizens and the diaspora filled the embassy to join President Prabowo in congregational Eid al-Adha prayer.

A warm and friendly atmosphere prevailed throughout the prayer. After the service, President Prabowo greeted and shook hands with attendees.

For Dini, who has lived in Paris for 15 years, the moment left a deep impression as it made her feel like celebrating Eid al-Adha with Indonesia’s extended family.

‘Praying with the President makes me feel part of Indonesia’s national family,’ Dini said.

She prayed for blessings for Indonesia and for President Prabowo’s health in leading the nation.

Dini also expressed hope for improved bilateral relations between Indonesia and France.

‘It is an incredible opportunity as the President is on an official visit and could meet Indonesian citizens in France during Eid al-Adha,’ she said.

Azrina wished President Prabowo continued wisdom in leading Indonesia and for the Indonesian diaspora in France to maintain unity and togetherness.

According to both, the experience was a special memory for their first Eid al-Adha celebration in Paris.

‘I was a bit nervous but thrilled, and felt honoured. Usually I just see it on TV, but now I can be there in person,’ they said.
