An Indonesian delegation from the Global Peace Convoy Indonesia (GPCI) for the grand Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) 2026 voyage has begun to be dispatched. On Monday (6 April 2026), volunteer and activist Wanda Hamidah began her departure for the sea convoy to breach the Gaza blockade. Wanda is reported to be sailing again via Barcelona, Spain.

A member of the GPCI Advisory Board, Irvan Nugraha, explained to Republika that before arriving in Spain, Wanda would stop over in Brussels, Belgium. “Mbak Wanda Hamidah has already departed,” said Irvan, who is the CEO of Rumah Zakat, on Tuesday (7 April 2026). GPCI entrusts Wanda with the role of representing Indonesia in the international Global Sumud Parliament conference. In addition to Wanda, legal academic Ferri Amsari has also been entrusted by GPCI to go to Brussels.

The Global Sumud Parliament conference in Brussels is a meeting of international law experts and human rights activists from around the world. These activists will discuss legal steps to protect the Global Sumud Flotilla voyage mission to Gaza this year. In that meeting, they will also discuss the latest situation in Gaza, as well as consolidate international legal steps regarding the Zionist Israeli occupation and genocide against the Palestinian people.

Irvan continued that after Wanda, the second batch of departures for GPCI volunteers and activists will take place this week. “Those following in the next departure are Bu Maimon Herawati, Muhammad Husein, Chiki Fawzi, and Adhin,” said Irvan. Maimon Herawati is the Coordinator of the GPCI Advisory Board and also Director of Smart 171. Meanwhile, Chiki Fawzi is a volunteer and influencer who is also a participant in the Indonesia Global Peace Convoy (IGPC) for GSF 2025 Tunisia.

This year’s grand GSF 2026 voyage is more massive than the similar event last year. It is estimated that 1,000 activists and volunteers from around 100 countries will take part in this year’s humanitarian mission to breach the Gaza blockade. The voyage assembly points are concentrated in four European countries: Barcelona in Spain, Sicily in Italy, Greece, and Istanbul in Turkey. GSF 2026 also takes a land route with a humanitarian convoy from Libya to Egypt before heading to the Rafah border. From Indonesia, author Asma Nadia is reported to be one of GPCI’s representatives to take part in that land convoy.

The initial GSF 2026 voyage was already carried out last Saturday (4 April 2026). Around 20 combined humanitarian fleets from the Freedom Flotilla Coalition and Thousand Madleens set sail simultaneously from Marseilles, France. Like previous GSF missions, this grand voyage to breach the Gaza blockade is the world’s largest civilian action via sea and land routes to help stop the occupation and genocide carried out by Zionist Israel in Gaza, Palestine.

That humanitarian mission is carried out without violence because the convoys carry medical supplies, food, and clean water, as well as women’s and baby needs for the people of Gaza, who are still under the Zionist Israeli blockade to this day. Last year’s GSF mission ended with the kidnapping and arrest of voyage participants by the Zionist Israeli occupying military when the convoy crossed international waters in the Mediterranean Sea before arriving at the Gaza coastline.
