Indonesian Defence Minister Receives Courtesy Visit from Qatari Defence Minister

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Minister of Defence, Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, received a courtesy visit from the Qatari Minister of Defence and Deputy Prime Minister, H.E. Sheikh Saoud bin Abdurrahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al Thani, on Tuesday.

According to observations at the location, the visit commenced at 10:02 WIB. Sjafrie, dressed in a brown suit, was accompanied by the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, General Agus Subiyanto, awaiting the arrival of the Qatari Defence Minister in front of the Ministry of Defence building in Central Jakarta.

Upon his arrival, Sheikh Saoud was immediately welcomed by Sjafrie and Agus.

Following the arrival ceremony and the inspection of the troops, Sjafrie and Sheikh Saoud proceeded into the Ministry of Defence building, accompanied by delegations of officials from both Indonesia and Qatar.

During a closed-door meeting held in the Bhineka Tunggal Ika Hall, both parties discussed various issues, ranging from global conflicts to plans for establishing cooperation in the field of defence.

As of this report, the meeting is still ongoing at the Ministry of Defence building.
