The Ministry of Trade, through the Indonesian Trade Attaché in Manila, reported that Indonesian cosmetic products recorded a potential transaction value of Rp26.35 billion during their first participation at the Cosmobeauté Philippines 2026 exhibition in the Philippines.

The Indonesian Trade Attaché in Manila, Rahayu Ningsih, stated that this transaction potential indicates the high interest of the Philippine market in Indonesian cosmetic products. "We are optimistic that quality Indonesian cosmetic products can be accepted and are able to compete in the Philippine market," Rahayu said in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.

Indonesia, represented through the Indonesian Pavilion, brought eight business actors who exhibited products such as makeup, serums and body lotions, hair care, baby care, perfumes, and essential oils. These eight business actors had undergone an open call registration and curation process by the Indonesian Trade Attaché Office in Manila with the Directorate of Manufactured Product Exports of the Ministry of Trade in March-April 2026.

According to Rahayu, during the exhibition, each participant in the Indonesian Pavilion was visited by up to 20 companies from various countries, including the Philippines, Turkey, Thailand, Taiwan, and South Korea. Business actors utilised the moment to promote products, explore business cooperation, and discuss import and distribution opportunities for Indonesian products in the Philippine market. Several exhibition participants also secured cooperation opportunities for contract manufacturing and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) services from potential business partners.

The Philippines is one of Indonesia’s main trading partners. In 2025, the Philippines ranked 8th as an export destination country for Indonesia and 21st as a country of origin for Indonesian imports. This shows that the Philippines is a potential market for Indonesian business actors. Throughout 2025, total trade between Indonesia and the Philippines reached 12.02 billion US dollars. Indonesian exports to the Philippines were recorded at 10.22 billion US dollars, while Indonesian imports from the Philippines amounted to 1.80 billion US dollars.

Several of Indonesia’s main export products to the Philippines include vehicles and their parts, mineral fuels, and animal/vegetable fats and oils. Specifically for cosmetic products, based on Trademap data, Indonesia controls a 4.47 percent market share of cosmetic products (HS 3304) in the Philippines. The Indonesian Trade Attaché in Manila noted that the increasing consumer awareness in the Philippines regarding the importance of skin care as part of health and personal appearance has also triggered rising market demand for beauty and skin care products.
