Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission Designates Kimak Village as Anti-Corruption Model

The Corruption Eradability Commission (KPK) of the Republic of Indonesia has designated Kimak Village, Merawang, Bangka, in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, as an anti-corruption model following an assessment by the KPK’s Directorate of Community Participation Development (Dipermas).

Firlana Ismayadin, head of the KPK’s anti-corruption village expansion assessment team, stated in Merawang on Wednesday that Kimak Village was selected because it achieved a score of 94.5, earning an ‘exceptional’ distinction based on the assessment indicators.

The KPK Anti-Corruption Village is a strategic programme initiated by the KPK to establish village governance that is transparent, accountable, and free from corruption. Launched in 2021, the programme aims to disseminate integrity values down to the grassroots level.

The Regent of Bangka, Fery Insani, remarked that the designation of Kimak Village should serve as an example for all other villages within the Bangka Regency.

“The success of Kimak Village in obtaining a score with an exceptional predicate from the assessment team will certainly serve as great motivation for the village to maintain its status,” said the Regent.

Fery Insani added that due to this achievement, Kimak Village has surpassed other villages in the Bangka Regency, particularly in the areas of budget transparency, public services, community participation, and village governance.

“I express my great appreciation to all parties involved who have assisted the Kimak Village government in successfully realising an anti-corruption village,” the Regent concluded.
