Kuala Lumpur (ANTARA) - The Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Kuching, Abdullah Zulkifli, received a courtesy visit from the Director of the Sarawak Road Transport Department (JPJ), Norizan bin Jili, and his delegation at the Indonesian Consulate General office in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, on Monday.
In a statement to ANTARA in Kuala Lumpur on Monday, the Consulate General said the meeting marked an important moment for both institutions to strengthen institutional relations and enhance strategic cooperation in managing safe and orderly cross-border land transport.
On the occasion, the Indonesian Consulate General in Kuching stated that it has actively built communication and coordinated intensively with the Sarawak road transport authorities to strengthen the shared commitment to safeguarding Indonesian citizens (WNI) visiting the region, as well as ensuring a high level of compliance with applicable regulations.

The Malaysian side also assured that every law enforcement process for traffic violations is carried out fairly and transparently, without exception.
Beyond law enforcement matters, both sides exchanged views on improving technical coordination and strengthening operational collaboration to deliver tangible benefits and a sense of security for the peoples of both countries.
In closing the meeting, the Indonesian Consulate General in Kuching urged all Indonesian citizens driving in Malaysia to always respect and comply with local traffic regulations, ensure they carry all valid vehicle documents and driving licences, and always prioritise safety.
“Compliance with local laws is a form of shared responsibility in creating a safe, orderly and smooth traffic ecosystem,” the Consulate General said in its press statement.
