Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN) has assured the resilience of national energy and the smooth distribution of fuel oil (BBM) across all regions of Indonesia. This was revealed during a meeting between the Head of BP BUMN and COO of Danantara, Dony Oskaria, and the President Director of Patra Niaga, a downstream subholding of PT Pertamina (Persero). In the meeting, both parties discussed the state of the national energy supply and strategies to maintain distribution stability to ensure public needs are met. “This step is part of efforts to maintain the stability of the national energy supply so that public needs are met safely, equitably, and sustainably,” BP BUMN stated, quoted from its official Instagram account on Tuesday (31/3/2026). BP BUMN also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the strengthening of the energy sector as an important foundation in maintaining economic activities and public services for society. As is known, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) recorded that Indonesia, through PT Pertamina (Persero), imported 135.33 million barrels of crude oil throughout 2025. Of that total, around 19% or 25.36 million barrels came from Saudi Arabia. The remainder was supplied from various countries, including regions in Africa, Latin America, the United States, Malaysia, and several other countries. In addition to crude oil imports, Indonesia has also established long-term cooperation with Singapore and Malaysia for fuel oil (BBM) product supplies. Amid global geopolitical dynamics, the government is beginning to review the diversification of crude oil import sources to reduce dependence on the Middle East region.
