Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) records that the condition of Indonesian citizens’ savings is still experiencing growth. This indicates no influence from global economic turbulence due to conflicts in the Middle East.

“There is no impact from global turbulence on savings behaviour patterns,” said LPS Chairman Anggito Abimanyu during a press conference on the results of the periodic KSSK meeting, Jakarta, Thursday (7/5/2026).

Anggito stated that for deposits above Rp5 billion, they are still recording strong growth. The growth rate even reaches 21.6%.

Specifically for large deposits, according to Anggito, they are still supported by the placement of the Government Surplus Budget Balance (SAL) in Himbara banks since September 2026. However, without that calculation, he said, deposits above Rp5 billion still grew by 9.6%.

“This 21.6% is influenced by the government’s SAL fund placement in Himbara Banks. But, if we speculate, without accounting for SAL, it could grow by 9.6%,” Anggito emphasised.

Meanwhile, the portion of deposits above Rp5 billion, according to Anggito, is equivalent to 57.88% of the total balance stored in banking. Whereas below Rp10 million, it is around 11%.
