Foreign Ministry confirms the number of Indonesian citizens detained by Israeli forces has risen again. The total now stands at seven Indonesians who are part of the Global Sumud Flotilla being held by Israel.

‘According to the latest information (19:50 WIB), the number of Indonesians detained by Israel has increased,’ Foreign Ministry spokesman Vahd Nabyl Achmad Mulachela told reporters on Tuesday (19 May 2026), cited from detikNews.

Vahd revealed that the number of Indonesians taking part in the humanitarian mission to Gaza totals nine. Of that group, seven are being detained by Israel and the others are aboard the Kasr 1 Sadabat ship.

‘From the total nine Indonesians who are members of the Global Peace Convoy Indonesia (GPCI) taking part in the GSF 2.0 mission, seven Indonesians are now reported to have been detained. Meanwhile, the two Indonesians remaining are known to still be aboard Kasr 1 Sadabat,’ he said.

According to Vahd, the on-field situation is currently highly precarious and dynamic. He noted that the two Indonesians still at sea remain on board the vessel, though they could be intercepted at any time.

‘The two Indonesians still sailing are in a precarious condition and could be intercepted or detained by the Israeli military at any moment,’ Vahd said.

Now, Indonesian representatives are in full standby to monitor developments on the ground. The Foreign Ministry together with Indonesian representatives also continues verifying the positions and conditions of the Indonesians, and to prepare protective steps as needed,’ he concluded.
