Indonesian Children's Story Welcoming Prabowo in Seoul: Excited and Nervous
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The arrival of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Seoul, South Korea, was met with high enthusiasm from the Indonesian diaspora, including children who had been waiting in the hotel lobby on Tuesday (31/3/2026). Kaindra and Luthfi shared their experiences as representatives of the children tasked with presenting a bouquet of flowers to Prabowo. Wearing traditional Indonesian attire, the two children handed the bouquet to Prabowo. After receiving it, Prabowo smiled and greeted the two children. “Yes, happy, happy,” said Kaindra and Luthfi proudly, quoted from a press release by the Indonesian Government’s Communication Agency (Bakom), Wednesday (1/3/2026). In addition, Kaindra and Luthfi admitted to feeling nervous and on edge. “Nervous, yes, very nervous. Same here,” Kaindra revealed. Kaindra even mentioned practising to avoid being nervous when giving the flowers to the President. According to Kaindra, the Head of State also asked for his name. “He asked my name,” he continued. On Wednesday, Prabowo held a meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung at the Blue House. This visit is expected to further strengthen friendly relations and the strategic partnership between Indonesia and South Korea, as well as open up broader and mutually beneficial cooperation opportunities.
