Indonesian-Belarusian Companies Forge Cooperation Worth IDR 7 Trillion
The government of Indonesia and the Republic of Belarus signed the Agreed Minutes of the 8th Joint Commission Meeting on Economic Cooperation in Minsk, Belarus on Friday, May 15, 2026. This was followed by the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between business entities from both countries.
The Agreed Minutes were signed by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Viktor Karankevich. “The agreements reached in this Joint Commission Meeting must be translated into concrete steps that will have a direct impact on improving economic relations between Indonesia and Belarus,” said Airlangga in a written statement, Saturday, May 16, 2026.
According to Airlangga, the signing of the Agreed Minutes marks an agreement between the two countries to strengthen the implementation of economic cooperation that has been discussed in the series of the 8th Joint Commission Meeting. The document is also expected to ensure that all cooperative agendas can be followed up more systematically, directed, and oriented towards tangible results.
In the meeting, both countries discussed various areas of cooperation, including trade, investment, industry, agriculture and food security, forestry, banking, health, education, science and technology, culture, sports, and tourism.
Airlangga believes that this Agreed Minutes can be an important instrument to accelerate the implementation of agreements and realize them in cooperative projects that can be implemented.
Meanwhile, Karankevich expressed Belarus’ commitment to continue deepening cooperation with Indonesia, especially in the industrial, agricultural, and technological sectors, as well as opening up wider opportunities for business entities from both countries.
On the same occasion, five Memoranda of Understanding between Indonesian and Belarusian business entities were also signed, with a total value reaching IDR 7 trillion. The MoUs involve PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) with Nedra Nezhin, PT Indonesia Belarus Jaya with OJSC Minsk Dairy Plant No. 1, PT Indonesia Belarus Jaya with Energi Complekt, PT Indonesia Belarus Jaya with OJSC Dolomite, and PT Indonesia Belarus Jaya with Belindo Trade.
