Indonesia’s beauty and personal care product export performance shows a positive trend. In 2025, export value reached USD 2.05 billion, growing 16.19% compared to the previous year.

Meanwhile, cosmetics products, which form part of the beauty and personal care product group, saw export value increase from USD 416 million in 2024 to around USD 673 million in 2025, or growth of 13.7%.

This was stated by the Director of Manufacturing Product Export Development at the Ministry of Trade, Deden Muhammad Fajar Shiddiq, when opening IndoBeauty Expo 2026 in Jakarta on Wednesday (5/8).

The Ministry of Trade, Deden said, continues to strengthen Indonesian cosmetics product exports through expanding market access, organising trade exhibitions, and reinforcing the position of small and medium enterprise (SME) products in modern retail networks. These measures are taken to maintain the positive export trend of the national beauty industry, which has continued to rise in recent years.

“This achievement shows that the Indonesian cosmetics industry has increasingly better competitiveness in the international market. One supporting factor is the organisation of various exhibitions, both domestically and abroad, as media for promoting national products,” said Deden.

Deden stated that the growth trend is projected to continue into 2026 even though global economic conditions still face various challenges.

To maintain this momentum, the Ministry of Trade is implementing two main strategies. In the domestic market, the government is working to strengthen the position of local products, particularly those made by SMEs, so they can dominate the national market. One step taken is establishing partnerships with modern retail networks, including cooperation with supermarkets to expand the absorption of SME products.

Meanwhile, in the international market, the government is encouraging diversification of export destinations. Besides maintaining main markets such as the United States, India, China, Japan, and ASEAN countries, the Ministry of Trade is also opening access to non-traditional markets through trade agreements and product development suited to each country’s needs.

“Exhibitions of raw materials, products, equipment, and packaging for the beauty industry such as IndoBeauty Expo 2026 are one of the important instruments in supporting this strategy. We hope this exhibition can deliver maximum results while supporting government programmes to strengthen local products and increase national export contributions,” he said.

CEO of Krista Exhibitions Group Daud D. Salim, organiser of IndoBeauty Expo 2026, stated that the exhibition, now in its 16th edition, has developed into an international business event bringing together manufacturers, distributors, brand owners, beauty professionals, investors, and business players from various countries.

Besides local companies, the exhibition held on 5–7 August 2026 features 65 participants from more than eight countries, namely Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and China. Entrepreneurs, including those just starting out, can find contract manufacturers for various beauty and cosmetics products here.
