Indonesian Army Downgrades Security Alert Level From Stage 1 to Stage 3
The head of the Indonesian Army Information Service (Kadispenad), Brigadier General Donny Pramono, has stated that the Indonesian Army (TNI AD) is currently implementing Stage 3 security alert level following a previous Stage 1 alert in accordance with a directive from the military commander.
The implementation of the Stage 3 alert concept is intended to strengthen the readiness of forces to secure areas during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period.
“We are implementing Stage 3 alert because we will be conducting Eid al-Fitr operations,” said Donny during a media briefing at Army Headquarters on Thursday.
According to Donny, the implementation of Stage 1 or Stage 3 alerts by the TNI AD is not in response to any conflict situation or armed conflict in any area.
From the outset, the Stage 1 alert was only for inspecting the completeness of main weapons systems and the readiness of all military personnel. This was carried out through a troop parade held at the Monas Roundabout in Central Jakarta on Saturday, 7 March 2026.
After the Stage 1 alert period concluded, Donny explained, the TNI AD then deployed personnel to provide security during Eid al-Fitr.
“The escalation has therefore been downgraded to Stage 3. This is how we are preparing for Eid al-Fitr operations,” clarified Donny.
Donny further stated that TNI AD personnel are currently deployed to guard several vital state facilities during the holy month of Ramadan.
Personnel have also been positioned at various crowded areas to ensure that the 2026 exodus and Eid al-Fitr holiday period proceeds in a safe and orderly manner.
With this personnel deployment, Donny hopes that the public can enjoy this year’s Eid al-Fitr celebration safely and respectfully.
