The Head of the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI AD) Information Service, Major General Donny Pramono, announced that TNI AD security operations have been downgraded from Alert 1 to Alert 3 status. The lower alert level has been implemented to strengthen troop readiness in securing areas during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period.

“We are implementing Alert 3 in preparation for Eid al-Fitr activities,” Donny stated during a meeting with media representatives at TNI AD headquarters on Thursday.

According to Donny’s explanation, both Alert 1 and Alert 3 statuses are not implemented to respond to conflict situations or military threats in any region. He clarified that Alert 1 is solely for verifying the completeness of weapons systems and the overall readiness of all military personnel.

The military parade held at Monas Circle in central Jakarta on Saturday, 7 March, was previously referred to as Alert 1 security operations. Following the completion of the Alert 1 period, TNI AD personnel have been deployed to maintain security throughout the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

“The alert level has therefore been downgraded to Alert 3 in preparation for Eid al-Fitr activities,” Donny explained.

Donny further noted that TNI AD personnel have been deployed to protect several vital national facilities during the holy month of Ramadan. Personnel have been stationed at various public gathering points to ensure the 2026 Lebaran holiday period and travel season remain safe and conducive.

With this deployment of troops, Donny expressed hope that the public could enjoy this year’s Eid al-Fitr celebration in a safe and dignified manner.
