Jakarta — The Head of the Indonesian Army’s Information Service (Kadispenad), Brigadier General Donny Pramono, stated that the Indonesian Army is currently implementing alert level three security following a previous alert level one status in accordance with a telegram from the TNI Commander.

The implementation of alert level three is being undertaken to strengthen troop readiness to secure areas during the Eid al-Fitr period.

“We are implementing alert level three because we will also be conducting Eid al-Fitr activities,” said Donny whilst meeting with media representatives at Army Headquarters on Thursday.

According to Donny, the implementation of alert level one or three by the Indonesian Army is not in response to any conflict situation or waves of warfare in any region. From the outset, alert level one was solely to verify the completeness of main weapons systems equipment and the readiness of all military personnel elements. This was previously conducted through a troop inspection ceremony held at the Monas traffic circle in Central Jakarta on Saturday (7 March).

After the alert level one period concluded, Donny stated, the Indonesian Army then deployed personnel to conduct security operations during Eid al-Fitr.

“So the escalation is reduced to alert level three. This is how we prepare for the planned Eid al-Fitr activities,” Donny explained.

Donny continued that Indonesian Army personnel have currently been deployed to guard several vital state installations during the holy month of Ramadan. Personnel have also been stationed at several crowded locations to ensure that the 2026 homecoming and Eid holiday period runs smoothly and safely.

With this deployment of troops, Donny hopes that the public can enjoy this year’s Eid al-Fitr celebration in a safe and solemn manner.
