Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Army (TNI AD) has built a modular bridge in Lubuk Palas Village, Silau Laut Subdistrict, Asahan Regency, North Sumatra, to facilitate residents’ activities. In a statement received in Jakarta on Monday, it was explained that the bridge connecting Lubuk Palas Village and Silau Baru Village was completed on Sunday (29/3) and is now usable by the community. Head of the Indonesian Army Information Service (Kadispenad) Brigadier General TNI Donny Pramono, when confirmed by ANTARA in Jakarta, explained that the bridge was constructed by soldiers from Kodim 0208/Asahan through Koramil 07/Air Joman along with personnel from Yonzipur 1/Dhira Dharma. Donny explained that the soldiers from the unit built the bridge in stages, starting with a survey and planning that included measuring the span, analysing the site conditions, and determining the load capacity to ensure a strong and safe construction. The next stage, he continued, involved the soldiers building the foundation by pouring concrete and creating supports on both sides of the bridge. “After that, TNI personnel, together with technicians and the community, worked together to assemble the modular frame on site until the main bridge structure was formed,” Donny explained. In the final stage, the soldiers installed the floor plates and embankment ramps for access to ensure the bridge could be used by the public. “The soldiers also hoisted the Red and White flag at the location as a symbol of the spirit of togetherness and dedication in development,” Donny stated. He hopes that with the bridge’s presence, residents’ mobility will increase, thereby allowing the economic cycle in the region to continue running.
