Jakarta - TNI Angkatan Darat (TNI AD) and the Royal Cambodian Army (RCA) have once again affirmed their joint commitment to continuously enhancing sustainable cooperation to strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries. “This collaboration is expected not only to strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries but also to provide tangible contributions to maintaining regional stability and security through the increasingly solid partnership between TNI AD and the Royal Cambodian Army,” as stated in a press release from the Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh in Jakarta on Friday. TNI AD, together with RCA, held the Army Staff Talk 2026 from 27 to 29 April in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The meeting served as a strategic forum that specifically discussed the military cooperation agenda for 2026 and formulated collaboration plans for 2027. The TNI AD delegation was led by Major General Drajad Brima Yoga, Assistant for Intelligence to the Army Chief of Staff (Asintel Kasad), while the RCA delegation was led by Major General Heng Makara, Deputy Commander of the Army. The event was also attended by, among others, Colonel Inf Agung Budi Asmara, the Indonesian Defence Attaché to the Kingdom of Cambodia. Within the framework of the discussions, both armies emphasised strengthening concrete cooperation, particularly in the fields of military training and enhancing strategic information exchange. This agenda is considered important in supporting the improvement of the capacity and professionalism of soldiers, while also promoting interoperability between the two armies in facing the increasingly complex dynamics of security challenges, as quoted. During the event, the TNI AD delegation also held a meeting with Major General Meas Sophearith, Chief of G2 of the Royal Cambodian Army, which specifically discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation in strategic information exchange as one of the important pillars in supporting the effectiveness of defence cooperation between the two countries.
