Indonesian Army Accelerates Construction of Suspension Bridge in Southeast Aceh
The Indonesian Army (TNI AD) is accelerating the construction of the Garuda Pioneer suspension bridge in Kumbang Jaya Village, Badar Subdistrict, Southeast Aceh Regency, to improve road access for the local community. In an official press release received in Jakarta on Friday, TNI AD explained that the bridge construction is part of a programme to repair and build infrastructure bridges. Head of TNI AD Information Service, Brigadier General Donny Pramono, stated that the personnel deployed for the bridge construction come from the Babinsa of Koramil 0108-03/Badar along with local residents. “Currently, the construction has entered the stage of installing the steel pole foundation moulds, which is a crucial part in supporting the bridge’s structural strength,” said Donny. According to him, TNI AD personnel together with local residents have been working hand-in-hand on the bridge construction over the past few days. Although it has faced several obstacles, Donny assured that the construction process continues to progress so that it can be completed soon. He hopes that the bridge will later be utilised by the community to support daily activities and drive economic growth in Badar Subdistrict, Southeast Aceh. “The existence of this bridge will become a vital access for the community in supporting economic activities, education, and daily mobility, especially in transporting agricultural products,” said Donny.
