Indonesian Armed Forces Commander General Agus Subiyanto Leads 65th Kostrad Anniversary Ceremony in Cilodong
Indonesian Armed Forces Commander General Agus Subiyanto led the 65th anniversary ceremony of the Strategic Army Reserve Command (Kostrad) at the Madivif 1 Kostrad, Cilodong, West Java, on Friday (6 March 2026). In the ceremony, the Commander acted as the Inspector of the Ceremony and was accompanied by Kostrad Commander Lieutenant General Mohammad Fadjar. Also in attendance were Deputy Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces General Tandyo Budi Revita, Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak, Air Force Chief of Staff Air Marshal Tonny Harjono, and Kostrad elders from various generations.
The 65th anniversary theme for Kostrad this year was “Kostrad Prima Untuk Indonesia Maju” (Kostrad Prima For Indonesia to Progress). The theme emphasises Kostrad’s commitment as a PRIMA force—Professional, Responsive, Integrative, Modern, and Adaptive—in fulfilling its duties to defend the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
In his remarks, the Indonesian Armed Forces Commander congratulated all Kostrad soldiers and their families, while praising their dedication to maintaining the integrity of NKRI. He stressed the importance of increasing soldiers’ readiness to face the dynamics of global security that are becoming increasingly complex, including hybrid warfare threats. He noted that rivalries among great powers could trigger conflicts impacting stability, so Kostrad soldiers must remain prepared, adaptive, and professional.
During the ceremony, Kostrad soldiers also introduced the new field service uniform (PDL) with a Laurel motif. The motif symbolises honour, resilience, victory, and achievement, while also serving as a symbol of renewed spirit in enhancing soldier professionalism.
The 65th Kostrad ceremony was attended by about 1,500 soldiers from five battalion-sized units (SSY). The event was enlivened by various demonstrations of soldier agility, including rampak bedug, toya and double-stick, military pencak silat, the breaking of dragon iron and hollow bricks, and troop defile.
In the ceremony, Brigadier General Ahmad Fikri Musmar, as Commander of Infanteri Division 1 Kostrad, served as the Ceremony Commander, while Major General Primadi Saiful Sulun served as the Defile Commander.
The programme concluded with a joint prayer and a sermon by Ustaz Dr. Adi Hidayat. The Commander also performed a cutting of tumpeng, which was then presented to two soldiers who were wounded by gunfire during duty in Papua: Private Mohammad Khoirun Nazil of Yonif 502/Ujwala Yudha and Private Megan Saputra of Yonif 431/SSP.
Additionally, the programme included donations to 400 orphans and a breaking of fast together as a form of social care and to strengthen the togetherness of the Kostrad family.
Since its founding in 1961, Kostrad has been the TNI-AD’s strategic strike force, involved in various Military Operations Other Than War (OMSP) and War Operations, including maintaining national stability and assisting communities in emergencies and disasters.
