Indonesian Amirul Hajj Team Arrives in Saudi Arabia, Primary Mission Diplomacy and Hajj Services

Jeddah, Kompas.com - The Indonesian Amirul Hajj Team began arriving in Saudi Arabia on Monday (18 May 2026) in the local evening time. The inaugural landing was the Amirul Hajj Team from the Hasyim Asy’ari Group, led by Deputy Amirul Hajj and concurrently Deputy Minister for Hajj and Umrah (Wamenhaj) RI, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak.

‘Thus, today we will immediately carry out activities; there will be coordinations later,’ Dahnil said in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Monday.

‘We have already divided the tasks among the Amirul Hajj teams. The three teams are agreed upon according to the instruction of the Minister and will be tasked with diplomacy according to their duties and fields,’ he added.

There will be three teams working during the stay in Saudi Arabia.

The delegation, also accompanied by Jusuf Hamka, arrived at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah on Monday afternoon at 17:40 Saudi Arabian Time (WAS).

In addition to carrying the state’s diplomatic mission, this delegation also has a controlling function over the entire chain of haj services.

The team will monitor to ensure all operational plans run with high precision on the ground, and to use their findings as material for evaluation for coming years.

The two other teams that are due to follow on Tuesday afternoon, 19 May, at 17:40 WAS are the Ahmad Dahlan group led by the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mohammad Irfan Yusuf.

Next is the HOS Cokroaminoto group led by the Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment, Muhaimin Iskandar.

Also bringing back valuable recommendations to realise Indonesian haj services that are increasingly high quality in the future.
