Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Ambassador to Tunisia, Zuhairi Misrawi, described the commemoration of Nuzul al-Qur’an as an important moment for the Indonesian nation to delve into the values of Islamic teachings. The Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Tunis on Friday (6/3) held the Nuzul al-Qur’an Night at the Ambassador’s Residence in Tunis, Tunisia, attended by diplomats and Indonesian citizens (WNI) residing in the country. ‘Alhamdulillah, the KBRI was able to organise the Nuzul al-Qur’an Night as part of continuing the good tradition laid down by Bung Karno, which desires that the Qur’an becomes the main source of the flame of Islam,’ said Zuhairi in a KBRI Tunis press release received in Jakarta on Saturday. He said the Qur’an is expected to ignite the spirit of the Indonesian people’s revolution. According to him, the Indonesian nation, especially Indonesian students in Tunisia, can take a role in delving prophetic messages to build civilisation. ‘We are indeed capable of exploring, delving into, and understanding the Qur’an in the context of building Indonesia’s civilisation. A great nation is one that can make its sacred book the elan in building science and the civilisation of its people,’ he said. Meanwhile, Ustadz Ismail, a doctoral candidate at the University of Zaitunah, said Ramadan should be understood as a momentum to build spirituality, strengthen the economy, and foster a culture of living together within society.
