Kuala Lumpur — Indonesia’s Ambassador to Malaysia Dato’ Mohammad Iman Hascarya Kusumo visited and shared an iftar meal with hundreds of students and teachers from the Indonesian School in Kuala Lumpur (SIKL) on Wednesday, 11 March.

“I am very proud to meet with you all and the teachers,” Iman said whilst conversing with the students and teachers of the school.

He referred to SIKL’s teachers and students as “heroes of education and the next generation of the nation.”

Iman also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting education, strengthening unity, and ensuring that every Indonesian child develops into a future leader of faith, knowledge, and achievement.

He emphasised that every Indonesian child deserves quality education and the government is responsible for ensuring educational access for all children of the nation.

“During the holy month of Ramadan, let us strengthen our faith and piety and remain enthusiastic in the process of teaching and learning,” Iman said.

The event, which continued with a Ramadan sermon, was also enlivened by artistic performances from SIKL students and concluded with an iftar meal and Maghrib prayers together.

Also present were Deputy Chief of Mission of the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur Danang Waskito, Acting Education and Culture Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur Jopkie Kurniawan, Acting Head of SIKL Mashudi, along with teachers and parents of students.
