Indonesian Airlines starts operation
JAKARTA: The recently launched PT Indonesian Airlines said its first flights would cover the Jakarta-Surabaya route six days a week, starting on Monday.
Indonesian Airlines said it would fly the route using two Boeing 737-300s, which it obtained from the German airline Lufthansa.
Launched about a week ago, the airline said it was targeting a 20 percent market share of the Jakarta-Surabaya route. It gave no details of when it hoped to achieve this target.
"Indonesian Airlines is eying business travelers," the airline said in a statement on Saturday.
To this end, it said, punctual arrivals and departures and reliable service were paramount to its operation.
As part of this strategy, Indonesian Airlines said passengers in all classes would be seated in leather seats. --JP
