Indonesian Air Force Tests Readiness to Secure Foreign Aircraft in Force Down Drill

The National Air Operations Command (Koopsudnas) held a Post-Force Down Handling Exercise at Hang Nadim International Airport, Batam, Riau Islands, on Friday (11/09/2026). The exercise simulated the handling of foreign aircraft that have been successfully forced down after entering or violating Indonesian airspace.

A number of Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) personnel were involved in securing the aircraft and conducting inspections following the forced landing process. This drill is part of an effort to enhance operational readiness, cross-sectoral coordination, and law enforcement in maintaining the security of Indonesian airspace.

During the simulation, Indonesian Air Force soldiers, accompanied by tracking dogs, conducted sweeps around the foreign aircraft. The activity, organised by Koopsudnas, aims to improve operational preparedness, integrate cross-sectoral response patterns, and strengthen law enforcement and airspace security within the Air Operations Command (Koopsud) I region to support the primary duties of the Indonesian Air Force.
