Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian National Armed Forces Air Force (TNI AU) and the Singapore Air Force are strengthening their relations and have agreed to build cooperation in the military field.

This was confirmed after the Chief of Staff of the TNI AU (KSAU), Marshal TNI Mohamad Tonny Harjono, met with the Chief of Staff-Air Staff (COS-AS) of the RSAF, Brigadier General Ho Kum Luen, at the TNI AU Headquarters in Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Monday (20/4).

In an official press release received in Jakarta on Wednesday, it was explained that both parties discussed cooperation in the areas of combat training, soldier education, and strengthening the quality of human resources (HR) in warfare technology.

The Head of the TNI AU Information Service (Kadispenau), First Marshal TNI I Nyoman Suadnyana, when confirmed in Jakarta, said that both parties also discussed cooperation in disaster management and humanitarian operations.

“Both parties discussed strengthening cooperation through joint exercises and opportunities for collaboration in the field of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR),” said I Nyoman.

I Nyoman continued that the Singapore Air Force side welcomed the cooperation plan.

The RSAF side, continued I Nyoman, also appreciated the involvement of the Jupiter Aerobatic Team from the TNI AU, which had previously performed at the Singapore Airshow some time ago.

On the other hand, the KSAU also appreciated the RSAF for the cooperation that has been established with the TNI AU so far.

With this meeting, it is hoped that Indonesia’s and Singapore’s air defence strength will become even stronger in the region.
