Indonesian Air Force Strengthens Cyber Warfare Capabilities
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) is strengthening its cyber operation capabilities by training its personnel in cyber warfare through an exercise titled Latihan Operasi Pernika, Informasi, dan Cyber Warfare, held at GOR Ganeca, Kodiklatau, East Jakarta, on Monday (11/5). In an official TNI AU press release received by ANTARA in Jakarta on Tuesday, it was explained that the activity was attended by soldiers from various units, including Intelligence, Cyber, Public Affairs, Electronic Communications (Komlek), Legal, Psychology, and Information and Data Processing (Infolahta). “Through this exercise, it is hoped that strong synergy will be built among various units to produce superiority in the cyber, information, and electronic domains in an integrated manner,” said Deputy Commander of the TNI AU Doctrine Development, Education, and Training Command (Kodiklatau), Marsda TNI Benny Arfan. Benny stated that the exercise is part of TNI AU’s efforts to enhance capabilities in facing the dynamics of modern warfare, threats in cyberspace, and the increasingly complex electromagnetic spectrum. Therefore, according to him, TNI AU personnel must have the ability to anticipate cyberspace threats, ranging from information attacks to securing national data related to state sovereignty. He explained that the human resource capabilities being honed by TNI AU are also supported by technology aligned with contemporary developments. Benny hopes that with this exercise, all TNI AU personnel units will possess cyber warfare capabilities to strengthen national resilience.
