Indonesian Air Force Sharpens Personnel Skills in Intelligence

The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) is working to sharpen the capabilities of its personnel in the intelligence field by holding the 5th Intelligence Unit Head Training at TNI AU Headquarters in Cilangkap, East Jakarta. In an official press release received in Jakarta on Thursday, it was explained that the activity had been held since 3 August 2026 and concluded today. Head of the TNI AU Information Service, Air Commodore I Nyoman Suadnyana, said the training was held because the Air Force requires a robust intelligence system. With strong intelligence capabilities, he believes the TNI AU will be able to produce a variety of strategic policies and decisions to protect the nation from various threats. ‘For this reason, every intelligence officer is required to have strategic thinking skills, sensitivity to changing situations, and the ability to adapt quickly,’ he explained. He noted that the training was attended by 20 TNI AU intelligence officers. Over the three-day course, they received a range of materials, from intelligence to the application of law related to air activities. ‘The participants received briefings covering security, intelligence and air operations, flight navigation, air law, as well as various policies that support the enhancement of professionalism for intelligence officers in carrying out their duties within the TNI AU,’ he said. Through this activity, I Nyoman hopes the intelligence capabilities of TNI AU personnel will become stronger and more relevant for strengthening national defence.
